Walmart to open 15 more stores in Andhra Pradesh

Walmart India announces its plans to open 15 more cash-and-carry stores in Andhra Pradesh apart from setting up a centre for sourcing agriculture products from small and marginal farmers. Meanwhile, four leading retail chains – Walmart India, Future Group, Spencers and Arvind – have signed MoUs with the state government with plans to expand their retail footprints in the state. When asked whether the big retailers would impact small mom and pop stores, a source from Walmart said both the models would work in India. Pitched in now with the mega expansion plan of Walmart in Andhra Pradesh for the signage companies is a new opportunity to tap in-store branding, designing and related projects with the opening of the high-end stores.
