Vodafone India has invested Rs 450 crore in Rajasthan and Bihar and Jharkhand telecom circles in the year ended March 31 to expand its cellular network and bolster retail and distribution presence. The Indian unit of the UK’s Vodafone Group Plc has invested Rs 250 crore in Bihar & Jharkhand telecom circle, and Rs 200 crore in Rajasthan. Vodafone added more than 1,250 new cell sites across Bihar and Jharkhand telecom circle last fiscal. It now has over 8,700 2G sites in the circle, covering 33,500 towns and villages, or over 79 percent of the region’s population. It also increased the number of exclusive retail outlets in the circle to more than 415 and planned to continue it further. Then what signage players are waiting for? Telecom sector is one of the sunshine arenas where PSPs, fabricators, branding experts can tap for new projects.
