BrewDog, the world’s largest craft brewer, enters India with plans to open 35 pubs and launch nearly a dozen bottled beer brands over the next four years. The Scottish brewer sees a clear opportunity in the mostly warm and tropical country with increasing affluence and proliferation of craft beer. Initially, the company will launch 22 tap beers and three commercial ones, including its flagship brand Punk IPA and a wheat beer brewed specifically for the country. However, these will be imported for the first few months and hence will carry a 10 percent higher price tag than rival imported brands such as Hoegaarden. Nevertheless, BrewDog’s plan for new pubs in India is a new business opportunity for the signage companies engaging in retail branding and display projects.
