Express Bike Works (EBW), an engineering technology start-up in which Mark Mobius has a stake, has tied-up with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) to set up outlets on the petroleum majors’ premises. The tie-up with HPCL is at the company level, while that with IOCL is with individual petrol pump owners across Pune, Surat, Hyderabad, Cochin, Nagpur, Delhi, Coimbatore, Mysore and Bengaluru. EBW will set up the outlets across HPCL’s 12,000 sites in the country. At present, EBW has two outlets – one each in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai at HP petrol pumps – and now intends to launch them across Hyderabad, Nagpur, Pune, Visakhapatnam, Kochi and Vijaywada. Signage companies engaging in branding and outlet designs must tap this new business opportunity.
