Mimaki is aiming at extension and enhancement of their presence in the high-growth digital textile print sector, having that they have reached agreement to acquire 100 percent of Italian textile specialist La Meccanica. With Mimaki printers already well established in affordable roll-to-roll textile printing, this strategic acquisition will see Mimaki adding further expertise, production capacity and capabilities at the higher end of the digital textile print sector. Headquartered in Urgnano, La Meccanica has been established for over 40 years, and is currently a well-respected specialist manufacturer in the textile market. What does this mean for Mimaki? The natural assumption is that Mimaki are looking to add to their production portfolio at the higher-volume end of the digital textile print sector, but as of yet no official announcement has been made soon.
