Mia Saker, a young female apprentice working at Blurred in Melbourne, outshone 35 other finalists from around the world (2 other Aussies amongst them) to be crowned as the first ever HEXIS PWS World PPF champion, after two intense days of competition at the HEXIS global headquarters in Frontignan, France. Mia confesses: “I wasn’t nervous at all going into the regional qualifying rounds of the competition in Melbourne, largely because I didn’t really have any self-belief. I felt as though I was competing to make John and others at Blurred Melbourne where I work, happy. But then to find out I was heading to France to represent Australia in the finals was pretty cool.”
“When we started Day One of the Finals in France, I didn’t think I was nervous, but my hands were telling me otherwise: I’ve never seen them shake so much, whilst I was cutting on a GT4 taillight! But surprisingly, I managed to win all four of my rounds, which landed me in the Grande Final,” Mia stated. Working first on Supercars like Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Maseratis the Grande Final cars were two Aston Martins and a 490P Ferrari – while a €1.5m Aston Martin Valhalla sat front and centre in the room as a permanent distraction. All 36 wrap-stars set about showcasing their range of skills in working with HEXIS BODYFENCE Paint Protection Films, ultimately competing for cash prizes of €10,000, €5,000 and €2,500 (first to third place) as well as future bragging rights.
