Future Retail, the operator of stores such as Big Bazaar, Easyday and Foodhall, has set strategic expansion plan as the company is opening its neighbourhood store chain Easyday, making it 4,000 outlets in five years from 538 stores currently. The expansion will include 136 stores of Heritage Fresh located in Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru, which it acquired in November. The company said it has built up a supply chain logistics capacity to handle 5,000 stores and centralised procurement facilities and strategic tie-ups with various FMCG companies are in place. Signage companies with knack of in-store graphics, branding and such tasks may get fresh business opportunity from such expansion move of the retail giant.
