EPSON achieves platinum for commitment to responsible business practice

Since joining the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) in April 2019, Epson has embraced its responsibility to achieve the highest standards in corporate social responsibility (CSR) by voluntarily undergoing rigorous Validated Assessment Programme audits at its primary production sites. The company has announced that its production facility, PT. Indonesia Epson Industry (IEI), has achieved Platinum recognition under the RBA VAP, based on audits conducted by RBA-approved independent third-party firms. This achievement underscores Epson’s commitment to CSR within its global supply chain.

These audits, performed by independent RBA-certified, third-party organisations, assess compliance with the RBA Code of Conduct in critical areas such as labour practices, health and safety, environmental standards, and ethics. Epson’s commitment to responsible manufacturing is underscored by successful VAP assessments across a number of production sites in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, and the Philippines, achieving Platinum recognition. IEI, established in 1994, is an overseas production facility of the Epson Group that manufactures printers. IEI successfully achieved Platinum recognition, which is granted to factories with a final VAP score of 200 and all Priority, Major and Minor findings closed.  ‘By participating in the RBA’s VAP audits, Epson will continue to verify that its products are manufactured with due consideration for human rights and the global environment.’
