Passengers who fly out of the international terminal of Chennai airport will be able to shop at branded retail shops by the end of this month. Airports Authority of India (AAI) has began to set up new retail shops at its terminal after a new contract was awarded late last year. As the airport may open the international arrival terminal, which has been lying unused, for departures, retail shops, food and beverages shops will also have to be set up at the terminal when it is ready for opening. The retail shops being set up in the international departure terminal now include book shops, cosmetics and personal care, medicine, electronics, jewellery, apparel and gifts. Such revamp at the Chennai airport with new retail stores will bring a fresh business opportunity for the signage companies handling in-store projects.
