Coca-Cola India plans 1.5 outlets next year

Coca-Cola India plans to take national a slew of non-soda beverages it currently sells in select markets, to consolidate and grow its functional drinks portfolio. The soft drink company will also take its portfolio of still beverages like Minute Maid into smaller towns and expand its retail reach by around 20 percent, to 1.5 million outlets next year. Mega expansion of the Coca Cola stores will develop a new business for the signage companies engaging in in-store displays and others.

Timex to open 40 stores

After taking a gap of two years, watch maker Timex is planning to bring out television commercials and go aggressive with its marketing campaigns, besides looking at introducing a slew of products, including 'Versace' watches in India by early next year. As part of its strategy to achieve a 30 percent growth next year, the company plans to launch around 430 watch models, besides opening another 40 stores across the country.

KFC hits century, planning for more stores

KFC announces the opening of its 100th store in India and the global chicken restaurant chain leader plans to grow aggressively in the Indian market, to touch 500 stores by 2015. The company had grown from 50 stores in 2009 to 100 stores today. In the pipeline is the plan to add 70 to 75 stores every year as the company has been expanding in the cities where it is already present and also entering new ones. The company is keen on entering new cities like Madurai, Salem, Hubli, Mysore in the south and Kanpur, Allahabad in the north. Lenovo enters Gujarat for new stores

After having teamed up with an Ahmedabad-based computer retailing company, Lenovo India, a multi-national computers maker, is now scouting for yet another partner to penetrate further into Tier-III-V towns in Gujarat. The company is in talks with Ahmedabad-based Aegis Infoware Pvt Ltd for rolling out 20 retail outlets under its exclusive retail outlet chain, 'LES Lite' (Lenovo Exclusive Store).
