Leading eyewear retail chain Vision Express plans to add 60-70 stores. The company is hoping to end the 2011-12 fiscal with 154 stores. Launched five years back, Vision Express is positioned at the lower end of the price segment in the estimated Rs 4,000-crore eyewear market. The chain, comprising all company-owned stores, offers a single private label brand (Vision Express) at all its stores. Product categories at the stores include spectacles, sunglasses and contact lenses. Such rapid expansion of Vision Express in the retail sector would be an added advantage for the business of the signage companies engaging extensively in the in-shop/in-store signage activities.
