Univercell to open 100 more retail outlets this fiscal

Chennai-based mobile retail chain, Univercell Telecommunications, is planning to increase its presence by adding 100 outlets this year, each with an investment of Rs 25 lakh. The expansion plan is currently focused on south India as part of its strategy to have a stronghold in the region. Currently the company has around 400 stores, with a majority being in south India. Plans are to increase the number of stores (each with a carpet area of 600-1,000 sft) to more than 500 in 2012. Constant expansion in the retail domain of the country is a new advantage for the signage companies involving into in-store displays, branding, designs, etc.
