Uniqlo wants to expand very rapidly in India

Japanese retailer Uniqlo, which has recently opened its second India store in Gurugram, is counting the market to be central to its business strategy. A company statement mentions that the firm wants to ‘expand very rapidly’ in the country. The launch of the second store, located in Gurugram’s upscale Cyber Hub, comes within a span of about two months since the opening of its first outlet in New Delhi’s Ambience Mall. The retailer is understood to have generated over Rs 2 crore in sales in the first two days of its operation. Vibrancy in the retail sector with rapid expansion of high-end retail stores of multinational brands like Uniqlo will bring new business to signage companies engaging in in-store graphic and branding projects.
