Summa introduce its F Series flatbed cutters

At recent international shows, Summa presented its first flatbed cutter in their F Series. The F1612 model has a work area of 160×120 cm and a conveyor belt system for roll applications. On the modular head, up to three work modules can be mounted at once. The barcode IDs of the tools enable the machine to always know which tools are installed. The fast up-down module is based on Summa’s drag-head and can be used for kiss cutting and pen drawings.

It’s also possible to mount a heavy-duty tangential module on Summa F Series. Several tools can be mounted in the modules, for instance, a static knife, a pressure controlled knife or a creaser (to make folds in cardboard). It’s possible to cut a whole range of materials up to several millimetres thick: roll-material, plastics, cardboard, foam board, etc. Summa plans to expand its toolset to boost the applications. The F Series are equipped with a camera system to pick up registration points.
