Subway plans for 2,000 new franchise stores in India in five years

Fast-food chain Subway, which runs over 500 franchise stores in India, plans to add new outlets to make the figure 2,000 in the next five years. At a time when most food chains are going slow on their business expansion plans due to sluggish demand, the chain is looking at network expansion with franchise partners. When Subway first came to India for its healthy meals, it opened the first store at PVR Saket in New Delhi. Today, about 60 percent of the Subway franchisees have multiple units running in the region. Subway’s future plan to open new franchise stores is an added business advantage for the signage companies whose activities involve in in-store branding and display projects.
