Keeping afloat by the new Goods and Services Tax (GST), Span Apparels, one of the leading ethnic Indian women wearing, has geared up to expand its retail network to southern and eastern regions. The company has laid down plans to invest Rs 100 crore towards massive expansion of retail outlets and setting up a warehouse in Ahmedabad. According to a source from the company, GST has brought the ease of setting up retail outlets in the other states as it was earlier tough in a way it required complex taxation and documentation. In this, GST has the online systems to get registered and expand businesses in other parts of the country. In this, the advantage is that signage players engaging in jobs related to in-shop displays, designs and such tasks will gain an added business opportunity.
