Smaller e-commerce companies go for brick-and-mortar stores

The battle for dominance of the online fashion retail market is moving offline. Following the footstep of Myntra, smaller companies including Voonik and Limeroad are aggressively expanding their brick-and-mortar presence. For small online fashion retailers battling with slowing funding and relatively small market share, these offline expansions are expected to deliver a better connect with customers that could translate into higher revenue contributions. Online fashion platform Voonik operates four ‘kurti’ stores in Bengaluru and is preparing to add more in the city. Tiger Global-backed Limeroad also plans for about 2,000 stores across India in 2-3 years after opening its first in Surat. Online companies going for brick-and-mortar stores in the retail domain is a business opportunity for the signage companies engaging in execution of in-store projects.
