Planet M Retail has set to strengthen its hold in the southern markets. Having rationalised its store count to 70, the Videocon Group promoted company now plans to ‘cautiously’ expand. Most of its new stores will be in Bengaluru where it intends to almost double the number. Bengalulu is going to be the company’s base for expansion as they want to take up the store count from the current 11 in this city to 20 and strengthen their hold in the southern markets. Planet M already has 5 stores in Hyderabad and 2 in Chennai. Such rapid expansion plan of the company would bring in a fresh business opportunity for the signage companies dealing in-store signage, displays and other related activities.
