Pizza chain Sbarro is planning to open 40 ‘New York pizza’ restaurants in north and east India as part of its expansion plans across the country. The chain that has 800 Sbarro outlets in more than 40 countries operates in northern and eastern parts of the country through its master franchise Jyoti International Foods. The said 40 outlets of the company will be opened in 5 years through an investment of Rs 40 crore. These outlets will be opened in Delhi and NCR in the first two years, followed by Punjab, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Kolkata among others. Gradual expansion of such global pizza chain in the country will bring fresh business to signage companies whose activities revolve around in-store branding, fabrication and related activities.
