Home-grown mobile retailer Big C is looking at expanding its retail footprint across South India. In addition, the company is also eyeing a bigger play with retailing IoT devices as well. The company is eying a Karnataka foray next fiscal and also plans to ramp up the total number of stores from the existing 225 across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu to about 325 next fiscal across these three states as well as Karnataka. Big C currently has about 205 outlets in the two Telugu speaking states and about 20 in Tamil Nadu and is looking at opening 75-100 new stores, including about 50 in Karnataka. Vibrancy in the retail sector with new stores popping up in cities and towns across the country is a new business opportunity for the signage companies engaging in in-store graphic, designing and related jobs.
