Mushrooming of new shops and luxury malls in Jorhat and Guwahati in the north east Indian state of Assam has brought in big brand retailers, national and international. The companies have either set up shops in this region, or are in the process of doing so. Swedish cosmetic major, Oriflamme announced that its Northeast market has grown by 50 percent. Another cosmetic major, Marykay, has also set up a distribution channel in Nagaland. This eastward expansion in the retail sector will be an added and unmatched opportunity for the signage companies engaging in in-shop/in-store graphics and displays.
