Metro Cash & Carry plans to scale up retail network with small-format stores

German wholesaler Metro Cash & Carry’s India unit has set plan to unveil smaller stores across the country in order to become profitable and quickly scale up outlets. The company which has built 100,000 sq ft stores in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata has opened a 40,000 sq ft. store in Nasik too. The company’s 27th store in the country in Ghaziabad will also be around 40,000 sq ft of space. The company also has stores in malls in Delhi-NCR which are in the region of 75,000-100,000 sq ft. Business opportunity is booming up in the retail domain for those signage companies whose activities involve in in-store branding, displays and graphic projects.
