McDonald’s chain to be expanded in South and West

Westlife Development Ltd, which operates the McDonald’s chain of restaurants in the southern and western parts of India, is on a major expansion drive. The chain plans to more than double its outlets from 223 now across 29 cities, to nearly 500, over the next few years. Westlife Development is on course to closing the current financial year (2016) with a turnover of Rs. 850 crore and has been growing at compound annual growth rate of 20 per cent over the past five years. And the company has thus far invested more than Rs 1,000 crore on setting up the chain of stores (all the stores are company owned and managed), and more than Rs. 1,000 crore in other infrastructure, development of supply chains and other related networks to support growth. Now the next regional expansion move is set and signage players engaging in in-shop branding, displays and related tasks will surely get fresh business.
