Marabu announces that the combination of its new Adhesion Modifier TP-HV 1 and Hardener H 4 can optimise respective printing procedures. Adhesion Modifier TP-HV 1 is a new auxiliary for the ink system TampaSport TPSP for printing on durable water repellent (DWR) coated materials such as rain jackets, umbrellas, backpacks, etc. Since everything should roll off these materials, good ink adhesion can be a challenge. Due to many different types of coatings, preliminary trials are essential. The printed ink film could be tacky immediately after printing. Therefore it is important to dry it afterwards for 24 hours at room temperature or at temperatures appropriate to the textile with a flash dryer/conveyer oven. After seven days at room temperature, the ink film is resistant to 60°C washing.
TP-HV 1 has to always be used in combination with Hardener H 4 (addition of 5 percent TP-HV 1 and 20 percent H 4). Hardener H 4 is non-yellowing and is, therefore, suitable for outdoor applications. Other characteristics significantly increased resistance to water and humidity. Tampa Sport TPSP is particularly suited to print onto media such as cotton, nylon, polyester, polyester blends, ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) coated, boost and DWR coated materials.
