Swedish home furnishing retailer IKEA has geared up to open a store in Navi Mumbai on December 18, its second door after it entered the country over two years ago. The retailer said during COVID times, it is taking a number of extra precautions from its global best practices and relevant learnings from its Hyderabad operations. This includes initially having a cap on the number of visitors to the store through prior registration. After the Navi Mumbai store, two more city center IKEA Stores will open during 2021 to reach more people in Mumbai. Signage companies with the knack of in-shop branding, fabrication and display projects will get a new business opportunity as big retail players like IKEA are expanding retail footprints with the opening of new flagship stores.
