IKEA to transform business model in India with plan for 25 new stores

Swedish furniture and home accessory major IKEA has decided to transform its business model in India. The company is planning to make more accessible to many people, which means adopting a true omni-channel approach. This means the big stores and small formats in the big cities of Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru and then also having an online approach. In this respect, the company is planning to unveil 25 new big stores as the big store in Mumbai and then Bengaluru will happen in one-and-a-half years. The small format stores will range between 5,000 sq m to 10,000 sq m. Vibrancy in the retail sector with gradual opening of new high-end stores will be a new business opportunity for the signage companies whose activities involve in in-store signage and branding projects.
