IKEA plans to expand in tier-II cities

After its successful launch in Hyderabad and Mumbai, IKEA is now looking at expanding in tier-II cities as a part of its phase-II expansion plan. The Swedish furniture giant is currently developing a large format store in Bengaluru and later to develop one in Delhi as a part of its phase-I expansion plan. The stores will be completely owned by IKEA, which gives the company freedom of long-term commitment for India as well as financial freedom to invest and not have to indulge in negotiations with other stakeholders for investments. Such expansion plan of the furniture giant will bring new business opportunity for the signage companies dealing in in-store projects.
