After successful penetration into Hyderabad and Mumbai, IKEA is now looking at expanding its large-format stores in tier-II cities as a part of its phase-II expansion plan in India. Swedish home-furniture major has been developing a large format store in Bengaluru and later to develop one in Delhi as a part of its expansion plan. The stores will be completely owned by IKEA, which gives the company freedom of long-term commitment for India as well as financial freedom to invest and not have to indulge in negotiations with other stakeholders for investments. IKEA’s store expansion plan will bring new business opportunity for the signage companies involved in in-store branding and application projects.
