IKEA Group to invest huge in West Bengal for two new stores

IKEA Group has approached to West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee seeking permission for multi-crore investment plans in the state. Swedish retail giant plans to open up to two stores in the state entailing an investment of up to Rs 2,000 crore. West Bengal is one of the key markets in IKEA’s plans in India and they would like to start working for establishing the company’s expansion plans. Each IKEA store in the state will be an investment of Rs 1,000 crore and generating employment of 800 directly and 1,200 jobs indirectly. IKEA’s new venture in West Bengal is a sunshine opportunity for signage companies too, as it will bring in some new in-store projects. The stores will be built over 4,00,000 sq lac ft area.
