Swedish furniture giant IKEA obtained environmental approval for a mega store planned in Navi Mumbai. The process of getting environmental approval doesn’t bode well for the ease of doing business in Maharashtra, according to source from IKEA, which applied for permission in October-November last year. The approvals took time even though the project was a prestigious one. IKEA received Central government approval in 2013 to invest Rs 10,500 crore to open 25 hyper stores in India. Such a big move of IKEA is an added business advantage for the signage companies whose activities revolve around in-shop designs, displays, branding and such activities.
