To promote a contemporary art exhibit by artist Taiji Terasaki, Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles was in need of a new building wrap. The exhibit honoured those individuals who advocated for those who faced discrimination, prejudice and inequality at borders, both real and imagined. LA-based large-format printing company CR&A Custom understood the importance of the project and worked with the museum to properly pay homage to the exhibit and create interest in the community.
Using an HP Latex 3600 printer, CR&A printed the graphics on 3M IJ35C adhesive vinyl with a 3M Scotchcal Luster Overlaminate 8509. The graphics look simply like straightforward black & white photos, but the alignment and crossovers had to be exact in order for the installers to properly install it on a curved exterior glass panelled building. Both the work and graphics in the project turned out to be iconic.
