Pondicherry-based leather bags and accessories maker Hidesign will soon announce a JV with Italy’s Braccialini to launch the brand in India. Hidesign already has a joint venture with Kishore Biyani-led Future Group to make bags and accessories under Holii brand, and is open to new business partnerships and joint ventures. Hidesign currently operates 63 company-owned exclusive retail stores, and Hidesign products are also sold at about 65 shop-in-shops at multi-brand retail stores. In the next 18 months, the company plans to have a total of 100 exclusive stores. Gradual expansion in the retail sector of the country will bring in an added business to those involving in in-store/in-shop displays in the retail sector.
