The government is planning to open 200 new ‘Jan Aushadhi’ generic drug stores across the country by the end of this fiscal. As on today, there are more than 112 Jan Aushadhi stores operational in the country. Further, issues like non-prescription of generic medicines by the doctors have also hampered in setting up of such stores, according to a source. Gradual opening of stores of different formats and sizes in varied parameters across the retail sector of the country is an added business advantage for the signage companies dealing in in-shop branding, designs and related activities. Signage companies must tap this opportunity in time.
