Global casual fashion brand GAP plans to open around four new standalone and ten additional shop-in-shop stores this year in India with a goal to cross the Rs 1,000 crore revenue mark soon. The company’s franchisee partner in India is Arvind Lifestyle Brands. At present, GAP has 13 standalone stores in the NCR (National Capital Region), Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai and Indore, apart from 15 shop-in-shop stores in multi-brand retailers in tier-II and III cities. The shop-in-shop format was debuted in India in February this year. The brand recently entered the Kolkata market with one dedicated store for adult fashion. In-store sector is boosting up with the emergence of new high-end stores from big brands, such as GP. This is a sign of big business opportunity coming for the signage companies engaging in in-store branding, graphics and such tasks.
