Durst is resuming production at its facility in Lienz in Austria and the company’s headquarters at Brixen in Italy will partially reopen for production. The Italian digital large-format printer manufacturer shut down its production facilities last month following the increasing outbreak of coronavirus epidemic across the country and one of the employees at the facility of its headquarters was tested positive of the fatal COVID-19 virus. The resumption of productions at the company’s facilities at Lienz and Brixen were decided with strict precaution as staff will wear masks and highly protective suits.
In a video message, Christoph Gamper, CEO, Durst, announced sure safety of every employee. The move to partially reopen production in Brixen comes as Italy registered 525 new coronavirus deaths on Sunday (April 5), the lowest daily rate since March 19, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 15,887. Despite the COVID-19 outbreak, according to Christoph, the company is planning to continue work coordinating with globally active team. All Durst branches across the world are active with the restrictions that apply in the respective countries.
