Hyderabad-based Drunken Monkey is planning expansion of its smoothie bar chain from 50 outlets in 12 cities to 150 by 2019. The start-up is also gearing to increase its headcount from 500 to 1,000 by the year-end. Since its first smoothie bar in Hyderabad in 2016, Drunken Monkey has grown to a chain of 50 stores from small kiosks to bigger quick-service cafe-style outlets. With a tagline “Naturally High”, Drunken Monkey is presenting its outlet as a social destination. Founded by Samrat Reddy, a serial entrepreneur, the focus is on popularising the ‘Smoothie Culture’ in tier I and II cities. Drunken Monkey’s outlet expansion will be an added business opportunity for the signage companies with the knack of in-store branding and graphics projects.
