Dell heads to small towns with plans to double store count

Dell is planning to double the number of its exclusive stores in the country to 400 this year, mainly capturing smaller towns. This technology company, which was taken private by founder Michael Dell last year, has been transitioning to a more services-led approach, but in markets like India it is counting on its hardware to give it an edge. While the top metros are fairly saturated – with PC penetration at 70 percent – the smaller cities have less than 20 percent penetration. Strategic expansion plan of Dell will bring in fresh business activity for the signage players whose activities revolve around in-shop designs, displays and related jobs.
