Delhi gets India’s first GAP store

Leading apparel retailer GAP’s Indian franchisee Arvind Lifestyle Brands is targeting Rs 1,000 crore revenue from the brand in 5-6 years as it readies to debut in the country. GAP’s first store will be launched in Delhi today (May 30, 2015). GAP will be a Rs 1,000 crore revenue opportunity in the next 5-6 years. On future plans, Arvind is looking at opening 10 stores with an investment of Rs 100 crore by middle of next year. Store openings will depend on space availability but the company plans to focus on Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore for GAP’s first 10 stores. This is a golden opportunity for the signage companies dealing in in-shop branding, displays, signs, etc to tap some unmatched projects out of the opening of the high-end GAP stores.
