Chennai airport to have retail outlets by year-end

Passengers travelling through Chennai airport will have a better shopping experience while they wait for their flights as Airports Authority of India is planning to appoint a professional agency to set up new retail outlets. The new shops are expected to come up by the end of the year. Around 1,228 square metre in the international and the domestic terminals have been allotted for setting up the retail units. These include shops for apparel, gifts, books, jewellery, personal care and cosmetics, medicines, electronics, footwear and packaged food and beverages. Emergence of retail outlets at Chennai airport is an added business opportunity for the signage companies whose activities involve in in-store projects.
