Though a late entrant to India’s fast- food market, Burger King is now expanding in a rapid pace, looking to position itself as a leading quick service restaurant brand and the company is likely to add 35-40 outlets this year across the country. It entered India in November 2014, as against its rival McDonald’s foray in 1996. According to a source from the company, it has been confirmed that 48 stores of Burger King are now operational in India, indicating that it is likely to expand at the same pace as last year – opening the 35-40 stores in 2016. Burger King opened 10 restaurants in 2014, and added another 38 in 2015. Such strategic expansion move of the company is a fresh business prospect for the signage companies dealing in in-shop designs, displays and the related activities.
