Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is planning to spend Rs 8,000 cr to meet its capital expenditure. Of this planned layout, the company has already spent Rs 1,760 cr during the first quarter of this fiscal. It will spend Rs 300 cr for laying pipelines, Rs 2,500 cr towards marketing and research and development, Rs 200 cr towards gas business, Rs 800 cr for exploration and production and Rs 2,125 cr towards miscellaneous expenses. The company will commission around 6,000 retail outlets over the next three years that is approximately 2,000 retail outlets every year. Currently, BPCL has about 14,900 outlets. This is yet another big business opportunity for the signage companies which engage in fuel station or retail outlet branding and signage projects.
