Big Ink Display Graphics prints world’s biggest greeting card

When CaringBridge started thinking about a way to celebrate its 15th anniversary, they weren’t sure what they wanted to do, but they knew they wanted the celebration to be big and to show the love.  The end result was a celebration at the Mall of America in Bloomington Minnesota, entitled “That’s a Lot of Love” featuring a 30 ft tall x 40 ft wide card named “the world’s biggest greeting card.” BIG INK Display Graphics of Eagan, MN printed the massive card, which attempted to set the world records for the largest card and the most people signing a greeting card.

The card was printed only after careful review of budget and options. The initial idea called for a scrolling card face, however this wasn’t feasible because of cost.  For the final project BIG INK printed twelve hundred square feet of thirteen-ounce smooth banner material that was stretched across a truss sub-structure.  The combination of the substrate and truss allowed the project to come in on budget.
