Carnation Hospitality, the owner of Barista Coffee, plans to invest Rs 100 crore to open 50 outlets in 2017 and is also looking at starting outlets in the Maldives, the Middle East and Europe in the months ahead. Rollatainers, a part of the Amtek Group, acquired Barista from Italian coffee company Lavazza Spa. Now the company is planning to open 500 stores in the next five years, primarily through a franchisee route. Barista has 190 stores across the nation and most of the new stores will open in smaller cities such as Chandigarh, Pune and Jalandhar. Signage firms with job profile of in-shop display and branding may tap fresh business opportunity with such big store expansion move of Barista.
