With the introduction of DGI-FT-II-1804 digital inkjet printer for transfer paper printing Apsom Technologies (India) Pvt Ltd, the dye-sublimation market has been redefined with new business impetuses. Various reasons and inherent problems arising out of non-standard inks, absence of degassing system in digital printing have restrained various projects. This was also subdued with high cost of paper and ink and the good quality heat transfer machine being not so easily available. At the same time direct printing on polyester has also been envisaged which again had similar problems apart from fabric movement and fabric pre-coating being the major concern.
But the launch of DGI FTII-1804, all such problems have become history and with high speed printing, good quality standard inks, dye sub paper transfer industry is again rising up. This is aptly supported by the decreasing cost of paper and inks which are most important consumable for this technology. Incidentally the heat transfer machines have also seen a lot of new manufacturers venturing into it making the whole system commercially viable.
