Aditya Birla Retail Ltd, the retail arm of the over $28-billion Aditya Birla Group, is in the process of opening six hypermarket format stores — more. Megastores — across India during the current financial year. The group introduced its third hypermarket in Bangalore and a third store will be coming up in New Delhi in due course. Recent inauguration of its second hypermarket in Hyderabad has completed a total of 12 hypermarket launches in the country. The focus of the new hypermarket in Hyderabad, sprawling over 55,000 sq ft, is around ‘fresh’ and around ‘everyday low prices’. Sprouting of such mega stores in every nook and corner of bog cities is an added business opportunity for those signage players engaging into the in-store signage projects.
