Fast Retailing, Asia’s largest clothing retailer, plans to ramp up overseas openings of its Uniqlo stores to 200 to 300 shops a year. As it chalks out its expansion plans, the Japanese company, known for its relatively inexpensive clothing such as fleece jackets, T-shirts, and its Heat Tech line of thermal underwear, aims to open 4,000 Uniqlo outlets by 2020, and has India in mind, along with Australia, New Zealand, China, and countries in Southeast Asia. Big bang! One can term such expansion plan of the giant global player, which would bring in a big opportunity for the in-shop signage players in the retail sector.
