McDonald's increases presence at IOC fuel pumps

Retail food chain company McDonald’s India announces that the company has joined hands with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) to increase its presence in petrol stations in west and south Indian regions and aims to more than double its sales by 2014 from both these regions. Under the agreement, IOC will provide space to McDonald’s for opening ‘Drive Thru’ restaurants in the regions. The company plans to open about 30-50 Drive-Thru outlets in five years mostly in Tier II destinations in the south and west at an approximate investment of Rs 175 crore. McDonald’s plan to increase its presence in the fuel stations will fuel the business opportunity for the companies dealing with in-store displays in retail sector.
