HP has introduced the DesignJet T1600 Plus Edition and DesignJet T2600 MFP Plus Edition Build Connected Printer Series, designed to help architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) organisations streamline large-format printing workflows while improving collaboration and security. The new range aims to address a common challenge within the AEC sector, where rapidly evolving digital plans can become disconnected from static paper drawings. According to HP, this can result in version mismatches that contribute to errors, delays, rework and additional costs.
Central to the launch is the HP DesignJet T2600 MFP Plus Edition Build Connected Printer, which HP says is the first multifunction printer capable of connecting paper drawings directly into HP Build Workspace cloud workflows. The system enables users to scan, share, manage and collaborate on drawings through a single platform, while QR-linked version control helps keep printed plans aligned with the latest digital versions. The printers also include an AI-enabled scan-to-vectorise capability that can convert raster drawings into editable CAD files. HP says the feature can reduce drafting time by up to 80%, helping users accelerate revisions and streamline design processes.
