A ceremonial laying of the cornerstone for Orafol’s new ‘Hall 14’ production facility has started at its Oranienburg HQ (headquarters), which eventually marked the commencement of the next major milestone in the company’s long-term growth strategy. The new production hall is part of the company-wide ORAFOL Roadmap 2030 – Shaping the Future, through which the company has committed to circa €235 million worth of targeted investments in the expansion of production capacities, new technologies, and international locations. The new Hall 14 is being constructed in the southwestern section of the main Orafol plant and, due to the unique geometry of the property essentially running alongside the street, the new building will be divided into two sections of varying lengths, thereby making optimal use of the available space.
With an overall footprint of around 4,835 m² and gross floor area of 7,595 m², at the heart of the new facility will be highly functional production areas with a total floor area of more than 2,400m². The facility’s structure will see approximately 600 precast reinforced concrete elements and is precisely tailored to the future plant technology of Orafol, complemented by a compact, three-story office wing on the west side of the structure. Naturally lit office and hallway areas create modern working conditions and complement the functional production spaces. Since 1995, the HQ in Oranienburg has been expanded almost without interruption, with more than €800 million euros invested in it over the past three decades. With the new Hall 14 production area, Orafol is specifically backing its Oranienburg headquarters as the group’s global technology centre and underscoring the confidence it places in Brandenburg as an industrial location for its own long-term technological direction.
