DuPont Artistri produces wide-format inks with 100 percent renewable power

DuPont has announced that its Artistri Digital Printing Solutions are now manufactured using 100 percent renewable electricity at its Fort Madison, IA facility, supported by Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). The change results in a 61 percent reduction in Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions related to grid electricity compared to a 2019 baseline, according to the company. The renewable electricity claim applies to the 2025 reporting year and is supported by U.S.-sourced RECs procured in accordance with market-based Scope 2 accounting rules, which permit post-year procurement. Rob Simpson, General Manager of DuPont Artistri Digital Printing Solutions, said: “Transitioning our Artistri manufacturing operations to 100 percent renewable electricity underscores our commitment to operational sustainability while continuing to deliver high performance ink solutions our customers rely on. This achievement is an important step in advancing our decarbonization strategy.” The move supports DuPont’s stated sustainability goals, including a net-zero carbon emissions target by 2050 and a commitment to RE100, a global initiative requiring 100 percent renewable electricity. Artistri inks are used in digital printing applications including textiles, packaging, commercial and industrial printing.
